APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP

I, , hereby declare my intent to make application to join The Augustana Ministerium.

I was placed into the Office of the Holy Ministry through the Rite of Ordination.

I believe, teach, and confess that the Canonical Books of the Old and New Testaments are the Written Word of God, infallible and inerrant, and the only rule and norm for all Christian doctrine and the life of the Church.

I subscribe to The Book of Concord of 1580 (containing The Three Ecumenical Creeds, The Unaltered Augsburg Confession of 1530, The Apology to the Augsburg Confession, The Large Catechism, The Small Catechism, The Smalcald Articles, The Treatise on the Power and Primacy of the Pope, and The Formula of Concord ) as a true exposition of the doctrine of Holy Scripture and the Articles of Faith contained therein, which constitute the true evangelical faith of Jesus Christ.

I subscribe to The Book of Concord because I am convinced that the documents contained therein are in agreement with the Holy Scripture.

I have read The Augustana Ministerium’s “Statement on the Holy Ministry” and accept it as a true and accurate summary of the teaching of the Lutheran Confessions concerning the Office of the Holy Ministry.

I have read the Constitution and By-laws of The Augstana Ministerium and agree to abide by them.

I understand that The Augustana Ministerium is not a secret society and as such my membership in this association may be made public.

I understand that The Augustana Ministerium exists to defend, encourage, and admonish its members; to uphold the Office of the Holy Ministry, to foster missionary activity; and to promote the raising up of qualified men into this holy office.

I agree with the above statements and shall, by my written signature, submitted by mail to the Recording Secretary along with my initial annual dues payment of $50.00 (US), make application to The Augustana Ministerium.
