$234,836.54

That is the total amount of assistance given to pastors through The Augustana Ministerium (TAM) through 31 December 2016.

Administered by a council of eight pastors from three different Lutheran fellowships, The Augustana Ministerium could easily have found worthy recipients for that same set of digits without the decimal point, but has simply not had it to give.

TAM helps Lutheran parishes remain Lutheran by enabling faithful pastors to continue to serve in spite of severe hardships that those parishes can’t afford to remedy—from medical bills to damage to homes—as well as helping those pastors who have been unjustly removed with, simply, keeping their families housed and fed until they can secure other employment.

The need remains great and funds are low. If you would like to help, please:

1) Send a gift via PayPal to TAMBursar@gmail.com ;

2) Use ANY debit or credit card by clicking a ‘donate’ button here on our web site ;

3) Send a check to:

PLEASE NOTE: The Administrative Council of The Augustana Ministerium is contemplating TAM’s future; donations have often fallen off from some quarters in favor of supporting ‘political entities’ within the various church bodies. TAM does not condemn such donations toward the establishment of Lutheran orthodoxy in those bodies, but only asks that the fallen or wounded in those bodies not be forgotten, but helped and strengthened and returned to service according to God’s will.

TAM is committed to “spending itself out of existence”—that is, forwarding your donations to pastors in need for as long as we can, never becoming an irrelevant organization with a big bank account that doesn't fulfill its purpose, nor one that limps along beyond the will of Lutherans in the various bodies “to preserve and promote Lutheran pastors and a distinctively Lutheran Ministry of Word and Sacrament to Lutheran congregations.”

Thank you for your prayerful consideration and ongoing support!
